At TIS we work very hard, utilizing volunteers and donations, to keep costs as low as possible. Tuition rates are considerably lower at TIS than at international schools in Tokyo, and are actually at below-cost levels. That is, the tuition charged per student is less than the actual cost of educating one student.


Individual Tuition Rates (2007-2008)

Tuition Fee

One payment of 820,000 yen (payable by Aug 15)
OR Two payments of 420,000 yen each (payable by Aug 15 and Jan 15)
OR Four payments of 215,000 yen each (payable by Aug 15, Nov 1, Jan 15, and Apr 1)

The tuition fee for the entire year may be paid in one lump sum before the first day of the first semester or, in order to meet the needs of those for whom a large lump sum payment may be difficult, TIS offers alternative methods of payment. Tuition payments may be made according to a two payment plan with payments of 420,000 yen due in August and January, or according to a four payment plan with payments of 215,000 yen due in August, November, January, and April.

If tuition fees are not paid by the due date for each term a late fee of 1,000 yen per day will be charged until payment is made. If payment is not made within two weeks of the beginning of the term, the student will be dismissed from classes.

Unless otherwise noted, all fees must be paid by bank transfer by the due dates. No checks or foreign currency will be accepted.

The application fee should be paid in cash and accompany the completed application form. If an assessment is required the assessment fee should be paid in cash prior to the assessment. The registration fee, building fee, maintenance/materials fee and tuition fee must be paid in full before the first day of enrollment. Students will not be admitted to TIS until these fees are paid. All fees must be paid by bank transfer by the due dates. No checks or foreign currency will be accepted.

Any questions concerning fees or payment dates should be addressed to the school office directly by the corporate sponsor. Fees should be paid directly by the corporate sponsor to the school's bank account.

2008 Spring Preschool Program Rates (2008)

TIS offers a Spring Preschool Program from April to June for children who will enter Grade 1 in September.

Application/Assessment Fee

10,000 yen (one time)
Paid in cash upon submission of the Eligibility Assessment Form and prior to the Assessment.

Registration Fee

50,000 yen (one time if admitted)
Paid in full before April 1 (or before the child starts school in the case of enrollment after April 1).

Tuition Fee

One payment of 300,000 yen (payable by April 1)

OR

Three payments of 105,000 yen
First payment: April 1
Second payment: May 1
Third payment: June 1
